Some Facts about the Pirates:   

         Pirates established in 2015 to cater for the Grassroots (U4 – U12’s) 
·         Caters for mixed boys & girls and girls only teams       
·         Boys & Girls mixed Teams (play on Saturdays)    
·         Girls only teams (play on Sundays)   

When is my child old enough to start playing football?
It is a requirement that children be at least 4 years of age to play for our Club (starting with U5’s team).  

Can my child play with friends?
Our Club regards the grading process as being an important part of the season’s preparation. We have found that players who are not graded properly do not have as much fun playing as they otherwise could. Our emphasis is very much on fun, but we also like to make sure the players are given every chance to improve their football skills and to try to make sure they come back to football year after year. There is some leeway in the U5 - U7’s age groups for players to play with friends, but only if they are not graded in the top teams in the age group. 

To organise your U5 - U7’s children to play with friends please advise us at time of registration or send an e-mail to info@piratesfc.com.au and we will do all possible to have your child play with their friends.

Does my child have to play in his or her own age group?
Ashfield Pirates FC recommends that players play in their correct age group but an exception is where the Club may ask a player to play up an age group to increase the number of players in that age group and allow the creation of another team or balancing of numbers. 

Do you have Girl's only teams?
Pirates FC promote girls only football and we are looking for girls between the ages of 9 – 12 years to join the Pirates. The Girls only competition is on Sundays and games will be held at CDSFA local grounds.

What times and places will my child most likely play?
Most mixed junior games are played on Saturdays between 8.30am and 12 noon in the CDSFA local grounds. Junior girls U9 – U12’s are played on Sundays between 8.30am and 12 noon.

Who is my Coach & Manager?
Each team needs one parent to volunteer as Manager and another as Coach. Teams allocate Managers after the grading process is complete.  This will be finalised by end of March and prior to the start of the season. All coaches prior to the seasons commencement will be entered into the Junior Coaches coarse to ensure all of our coaches have the best tools possible for our young football players.

When is the Orientation? See the calendar on the APFC web site
Orientation will commence on the first Sunday of February between 9am – 11am and will run every Sunday in the month of February. See the Calendar on the web site – www.piratesfc.com.au. All teams should be finalised by end of February.

What are the training days?
After the grading process, each team nominates a Manager and Coach, normally from parents of players in that team. The Manager and Coach are responsible for deciding on a training day that best suits the majority of the team, and it is subject to space availability at the time and location selected.  

What are the fees for playing football with APFC and how do I register? 
Please go to www.myfootballclub.com.au website and register your child with the Ashfield Pirates FC.
Please note that the 2nd child is given a 10% discount on the registration cost.

Registrations will be processed through the Football Federation Australia (FFA) online registration system. One you have registered your child we will send you an invoice for payment. You will also receive a notification email when this is done including a payment link.

There are different forms of Payment for registration and we have made it as easy as possible:  

1.       Payment can be made by Cheque   

a.        Cheque to be made out to Ashfield Pirates FC (please allow 7 days for the cheque to clear)

All registration payments must be received in full prior to players being registered with the Pirates and placed in their respective teams. No exceptions will be allowed.

Can I register after commencement of the Football Season?  

Yes you can register if the season has already started providing there is a place in a team in your age group. Please check with the age coordinator.
